Today, Italy made history by passing its new law on surrogacy<\/b>. The new law makes surrogacy a universal offense<\/b>. Under this law, any Italian who uses a surrogate mother in his or her own country or abroad will be liable to a prison sentence of between 3 months and 2 years, and a fine of between 600,000 and one million euros.<\/p>\n

What is totally unprecedented in this law<\/b> is that the Italian authorities will now be able to convict Italian nationals who go abroad to procure themselves a child surrogacy, even if this is legal in the country concern<\/b>ed, and who return with the child to Italy.<\/p>\n

Giorgia Meloni, Italy’s Prime Minister<\/strong>, expressed her delight on social networks at the approval of a \u2018common sense rule against the commodification of the female body and children: human life has no price and is not a commodity to be exchanged\u2019.<\/p>\n

Eugenia Roccella, Italy’s Minister for the Family,<\/strong> declared that \u2018People are not objects, children cannot be bought and parts of the human body cannot be sold or rented. This simple truth, which is already enshrined in our legal system, where the aberrant practice of surrogacy is a criminal offence, can no longer be circumvented\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Casablanca Declaration believes that this is a major step forward in the universal abolition of surrogacy<\/b>, and that Italy today will go down in history. By passing this law, Italy will protect not only women against exploitation in surrogacy, but also the children sold in surrogacy, who are all too often forgotten.<\/p>\n

Italy is showing the way forward for all the other countries<\/b> that have not yet dared to take initiatives to protect women and children from surrogate motherhood.<\/p>\n

Oggi, 16 ottobre 2024, l’Italia entra nella storia<\/b> approvando la nuova legge sulla maternit\u00e0 surrogata, che rende la maternit\u00e0 surrogata un reato universale<\/u><\/b><\/a>.<\/b> In base a questa legge, gli cittadini italiani che rincorrono a questa pratica nel propio Paese o anche all’estero, saranno puniti con una pena detentiva da 3 mesi a 2 anni e una multa da 600.000 a un milione di euro.<\/p>\n

Questa nuova legge, senza precedenti nel panorama legislativo internazionale, consentir\u00e0 alle autorit\u00e0 di proteggere in modo pi\u00f9 efficace i diritti di bambini e madri vittime della pratica della maternit\u00e0 surrogata.<\/b>In particolare, la normativa punir\u00e0 i cittadini italiani che, anche se ricorrono legalmente alla maternit\u00e0 surrogata all’estero, rientrano in Italia dichiarando il bambino come proprio figlio.<\/p>\n

Con l’approvazione definitiva di oggi al Senato, il ddl che rende l’utero in affitto reato universale \u00e8 finalmente legge. Una norma di buonsenso contro la mercificazione del corpo femminile e dei bambini. La vita umana non ha prezzo e non \u00e8 merce di scambio\u00bb, ha scritto sulla piattaforma X la premier Giorgia Meloni<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cCon questa legge l\u2019Italia si pone all\u2019avanguardia in tema di difesa dei diritti\u201d, ha affermato la ministra della famiglia Eugenia Roccella.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cLe persone non sono oggetti, i bambini non possono essere comprati e le parti del corpo umano non possono essere vendute o affittate\u201d, ha aggiunto. \u201cQuesta semplice verit\u00e0, gi\u00e0 sancita dal nostro ordinamento giuridico, non potr\u00e0 pi\u00f9 essere aggirata\u201d.<\/p>\n

La Dichiarazione di Casablanca <\/b>ritiene che questa misura rappresenti un passo importante verso il divieto universale della maternit\u00e0 surrogata <\/b>e l’Italia stia facendo la storia. Con questa legge, l’Italia si dota di strumenti concreti per proteggere<\/b> non solo le donne dallo sfruttamento legato alla maternit\u00e0 surrogata, ma anche i bambini, spesso dimenticati, che vengono trattati come oggetti di compravendita attraverso tale pratica. La normativa rappresenta un passo cruciale per contrastare queste forme di abuso e garantire maggiore giustizia e protezione<\/b> per tutte le vittime coinvolte, rafforzando i diritti dei pi\u00f9 vulnerabili.<\/p>\n
