The Casablanca Declaration for the Universal Abolition of Surrogacy is taking part this week in three major events organized within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Its spokesperson, Olivia Maurel<\/b>, and Executive Director, Bernard Garcia<\/b>, represent the Declaration in this series of high-level exchanges dedicated to the report <\/u><\/a>of the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls, Mrs. Reem Alsalem<\/u><\/b><\/a>, which highlights the risks of exploitation and violations of human dignity inherent in surrogacy practices<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Three Days, Three Key Milestones<\/p>\n

– October 8th \u2013 UN Headquarters, New York<\/b><\/p>\n

Side event organized by the Permanent Mission of Italy, attended by Mrs. Alsalem and international experts.<\/p>\n

The Casablanca Declaration delegation will participate in the dialogue to emphasize the need for a global debate grounded in the protection of women\u2019s and children\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n

– October 9th \u2013 Side event co-organized by the <\/b>Casablanca Declaration<\/u><\/b><\/a>, the <\/b>Heritage Foundation<\/u><\/b><\/a>, and <\/b>ADF International<\/u><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cSurrogacy: From Findings to Action \u2013 Expert Policy Dialogue\u201d<\/p>\n

This gathering will bring together State representatives, UN experts, and members of civil society to discuss the conclusions of Mrs. Alsalem\u2019s report.<\/p>\n

Discussions will focus in particular on possible coordinated actions regarding the various challenges posed by surrogacy, including its cross-border dimension. Bilateral meetings are also planned to strengthen cooperation between States and partner organizations.<\/p>\n

– October 10th Official Presentation of Mrs. Reem Alsalem\u2019s Report before the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly<\/b><\/p>\n

The Casablanca Declaration expresses its full appreciation for Mrs. Alsalem\u2019s courageous and thorough work, which opens a new phase of reflection within the UN on the ethical, social, and legal implications of surrogacy. New York, 8 octobre 2025 \u2014 La D\u00e9claration de Casablanca pour l\u2019abolition universelle de la gestation pour autrui (GPA) participe cette semaine \u00e0 trois \u00e9v\u00e9nements majeurs organis\u00e9s dans le cadre de la 80\u1d49 session de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations Unies.<\/p>\n

Sa porte-parole, Olivia Maurel<\/b>, et son Directeur ex\u00e9cutif, Bernard Garcia<\/b>, repr\u00e9sentent la D\u00e9claration dans cette s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u00e9changes de haut niveau consacr\u00e9s au rapport<\/u><\/a> de la Rapporteure sp\u00e9ciale des Nations Unies sur la violence contre les femmes et les filles, Mme Reem Alsalem<\/u><\/b><\/a>, qui met en lumi\u00e8re les risques d\u2019exploitation et les atteintes \u00e0 la dignit\u00e9 humaine li\u00e9s \u00e0 la pratique de la GPA.<\/b><\/p>\n

Trois jours, trois \u00e9tapes d\u00e9cisives :<\/p>\n

– 8 octobre : Side-event organis\u00e9 par la mission permanente de l\u2019Italie en pr\u00e9sence de Mme Alsalem et d\u2019experts internationaux.<\/b><\/p>\n

La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation de la D\u00e9claration de Casablanca y assistera afin de participer au dialogue et de souligner la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019un d\u00e9bat global fond\u00e9 sur la protection des droits des femmes et des enfants.<\/p>\n

– 9 octobre : Side-event coorganis\u00e9 par la <\/b>D\u00e9claration de Casablanca<\/u><\/b><\/a>, <\/b>Heritage Foundation<\/u><\/b><\/a> et <\/b>ADF International\u00a0<\/u><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00abLa gestation pour autrui : des constats \u00e0 l\u2019action \u2013 dialogue d\u2019experts en politiques publiques\u201d<\/p>\n

Cette rencontre rassemblera des repr\u00e9sentants d\u2019\u00c9tats, d\u2019experts onusiens et de membres de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile autour des conclusions du rapport de Madame Alsalem.<\/p>\n

Les discussions porteront notamment sur la possibilit\u00e9 de mener des actions coordonn\u00e9es sur des probl\u00e9matiques diverses pos\u00e9es par la gestation pour autrui, y compris concernant sa composante transfrontali\u00e8re. Des rencontres bilat\u00e9rales sont \u00e9galement pr\u00e9vues afin de renforcer la coop\u00e9ration entre \u00c9tats et organisations partenaires.<\/p>\n

– 10 octobre : Pr\u00e9sentation officielle du rapport de Mme Reem Alsalem devant la Troisi\u00e8me Commission de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e G\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations Unies\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

La D\u00e9claration de Casablanca exprime sa pleine reconnaissance \u00e0 Mme Alsalem pour la qualit\u00e9 et le courage de son travail, qui ouvre une nouvelle phase de r\u00e9flexion au sein des Nations Unies sur les implications \u00e9thiques, sociales et juridiques de la gestation pour autrui.
