Paris – January 7th 2026<\/i><\/p>\n

Bernard Garc\u00eda Larrain has been recognized as one of Chile\u2019s \u201cTop 100 Young Leaders\u201d for his work as Executive Director of the Casablanca Experts Group advocating for the universal abolition of surrogacy.<\/b><\/p>\n

This annual award honors 100 individuals aged 35 or under who have made a significant positive impact in their field through leadership. The initiative has been organized for 25 years by the newspaper El Mercurio in partnership with Adolfo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez University.<\/p>\n

\n

Being included in the \u201cTop 100 Young Leaders\u201d list is considered an emblematic recognition in Chile.<\/b><\/p>\n

A dual Chilean and French national, Bernard Garc\u00eda Larrain, aged 35, studied law in France. He completed his PhD at Sorbonne University, earning the highest academic distinction, through a partnership with the British law firm Allen & Overy\u2014one of the world\u2019s leading legal practices\u2014where he worked in Paris.<\/p>\n

Since 2022, Bernard has been a key figure behind the Casablanca Declaration, signed on March 3, 2023, by experts from around the world calling for the universal abolition of surrogacy. He subsequently structured the group of signatories into a Paris-based NGO.<\/p>\n

In his role as Executive Director of Casablanca, Bernard has published two books, organized three international conferences, and been invited to speak at the United Nations, the European Parliament, numerous national parliaments and global forums. He has also worked closely with prominent figures such as Reem Alsalem<\/b>, United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women, and Pope Francis<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\n

Under his leadership, Casablanca has become a leading global reference in the effort to promote an international treaty abolishing surrogacy.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a great honor to receive this recognition on behalf of the work done by the Casablanca experts to protect the rights of women and children. This award brings visibility to a universal cause and to the suffering of so many who are affected by the global surrogacy market<\/b>\u201d, said Bernard Garcia.<\/p>\n

Last year, Olivia Maurel<\/b>, spokesperson for Casablanca, received in Italy the Atreju Award<\/b>, which is given to individuals distinguished by talent, courage, and independent spirit, and who serve as an inspiration to younger generations.<\/p>\n

Bernard Garcia Larrain a re\u00e7u le prix des \u201c100 Jeunes Leaders du Chili\u201d pour son travail en tant que directeur ex\u00e9cutif du Groupe d\u2019experts de Casablanca pour l\u2019abolition universelle de la gestation pour autrui.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ce prix annuel met en lumi\u00e8re 100 personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 35 ans ou moins, dont l\u2019action et le leadership ont eu un impact positif dans leur domaine. Il s’agit d\u2019une initiative organis\u00e9e depuis 25 ans par le journal El Mercurio<\/b><\/i>, en partenariat avec l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Adolfo Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez<\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u00catre s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 parmi les \u00ab 100 Jeunes Leaders \u00bb est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une distinction embl\u00e9matique au Chili.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

De nationalit\u00e9 franco-chilienne, Bernard Garcia Larrain, 35 ans, a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le droit en France. Il a obtenu un doctorat \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de la Sorbonne, avec les f\u00e9licitations du jury, dans le cadre d\u2019une collaboration avec le cabinet juridique britannique Allen & Overy, l\u2019un des cabinets les plus r\u00e9put\u00e9s au monde, au sein duquel il a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris.<\/p>\n
