1st anniversary of the Declaration

Today, 3 March 2024, 1st anniversary of the Declaration of Casablanca: already a lot to celebrate!
On 3 March 2023, 100 experts of 75 nationalities presented the Casablanca Declaration for the universal abolition of surogacy, calling on governments to overcome resignation and :

– condemn surrogacy
– take concrete measures to put an end to this trade
– commit to an international Convention to promote a global context of refusal of surrogacy, likely to involve many countries in this virtuous challenge.

Over the past year, the Casablanca Declaration has been presented around the world, for example :
– at the European Parliament on 4 July 2023 (HERE
– at the UN in New York, on 17 November 2023, during the Summit for the 75th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights (HERE)
– in the Czech Parliament on 29 November 2023 (HERE)
– in the Croatian Parliament on 29 February 2024 (HERE)

It has become a benchmark for promoting a very simple idea: the abolition of surrogacy is necessary and possible!

The next decisive step to encourage and support initiatives leading to the adoption of an international treaty is the Rome International Conference for the Universal Abolition of Surrogacy, to be held on 5 and 6 April 2024 in Rome.
